Bradford offers an impressive variety of sports facilities and venues; including nearly forty leisure centres, forty golf courses, sixteen riding schools, ten Ramblers Association groups and two ice rinks.
The Richard Dunn Sports Centre is one of the largest of its kind in the city, and a feature on the Bradford skyline. There is a twenty-five-metre leisure pool, ‘Jungle Adventure Pool’ for kids, ‘Cobra’ black hole waterslide and ‘Zambezee’ tyre ride. The gym at the centre has recently been renovated, and is now larger, better equipped with training facilities and televisions to watch whilst working out. There is also a sauna and solarium, and squash courts. A café and licensed bar are on the premises, and a function room can be hired for private functions.

The University of Bradford also offer a range of sporting and leisure facilities, for students and members of the public. The Sports Centre is in the middle of the city campus and comprises a range of facilities, including a large sports hall, for 5-a-side football, basketball and badminton, a twenty-five-metre swimming pool, two squash courts, a dance studio, sauna and solarium. The centre is home to more than fifty sports clubs.
A range of therapies is also available, and these include aromatherapy massage, hypnotherapy and physiotherapy. Contact the Sports Centre on 01274 234 871.
Behind the Halls of Residence is the Laisteridge Lane site; here are facilities for squash, football, netball and hockey. The Woodhall Sports Ground is four miles from the city campus, and comprises five football pitches, three rugby pitches, and two cricket squares. To use the Laisteridge Lane facilities, contact the main Sports Centre; for the Woodhall site, phone 01274 234 868.
The Hollywood Bowl chain has a branch in Bradford city centre Leisure Exchange. There are twenty-four ten-pin bowling lanes at the centre, and equipment is available to hire. There is a licensed bar and a wide range of refreshments for sale; as well as a selection of new and classic arcade games in the Games Area. For Thai Boxing, the Mungsarin Thai Boxing Academy is located on Barry Street in the city centre, and offers group and private tuition for beginners and the more experienced. Contact the centre by phone on 01274 309 010.
Queensbury Golf Club is a nine-hole course, located in picturesque surroundings on the outskirts of the city. Golfers of all abilities are welcome. Northcliffe Golf Club is a sprawling, eighteen-hole course, with a lounge and bar on-site.
