Nightclubs
Though not renowned for its nightlife, Bradford city centre is home to a number of nightclubs and live music venues, presenting a variety of music and club atmospheres. Alongside a selection of commercial pop and dance venues, the city also boasts a number of rock and alternative clubs and a vibrant gay scene.
Bradford Rio is a rock/alternative nightclub and live music venue, based on Woodhead Road, just behind the university’s city campus.
Wednesday nights are ‘Exit1’, the student night, in the main room, with DJs playing cheesy 80's, nu-metal, dance, chart, punk and ska; in the Small Room is ‘Supper Club’, with alternative and indie music. Admission is free before 9:30pm, and £2 (or £1 with a NUS) after. Friday nights are live bands, with the goth night ‘Darkside’ on the first Friday of each month. Other regular nights include ‘No Gain’, the hardcore rock night, ‘Rock of Ages’, ‘Noise’ and ‘Kiss This’.
