Birmingham is home to more than sixty restaurants, including twenty-five located close together in the Bullring shopping development and a choice of Mexican, Spanish, Chinese and traditional English restaurants in Star City.
Brasserie Blanc is just one of eleven Birmingham restaurants recommended by the Good Food Guide. Located in Oozells Square, just off Broad Street, this French-style brasserie serves high quality, traditional French fare and offers a selection of more than forty fine wines. There is a large bar, leather booths, an outside terrace and seating for a hundred-and-sixty people.

Jessica’s, on Montague Road, received a Michelin star just eighteen months after its opening. It has since been recognized as Restaurant of the Year by AA, and received recommendations from a variety of regional and national publications, including The Independent and The Metro newspapers. Other noted fine dining restaurants include Beau Thai on Old Lode Lane, offering authentic Thai cuisine and a vegetarian menu, and Saffron on Wolverhampton Road, serving a range of Indian-inspired dishes.
As you would expect from a city dubbed ‘the capital of the balti’, Birmingham has a wide selection of Balti houses and Indian restaurants. As the Independent Food Review put it: “The restaurants and shops of the Balti Triangle satisfy a yearning for exotic foods and goods”. The area known as the ‘Balti Triangle’ is in the south of the city, between Sparkbrook, Balsall Heath and Moseley.
